My wish is to create balance
and beauty in a timeless world.
It is exhilarating, when through light and color
images reveal
themselves to me.
Every painting, an adventure into the unknown
beyond intellect and words, the unintelligible
language of the heart.
Through my paintings, my intention is to provide
a conduit for positive energy and to bring about an uplifting experience of joy.
Regardless of the level of collector, no matter the name recognition of the artist or sculptor, an individual must always be on the look out for the discovery of the unrecognized or the lesser known, individuals who continue to produce works of art that delight the eye and that fulfill theirs and our inner need to be in touch with the creative. Art enriches our existence, appealing to our senses to awaken them, excite them and to gain solace from them. Early color field and abstract painters understood this need and were able to engage the viewer with works that did not spell out their meanings but that drew on sensory responses. Dina Herrmann is an artist in the best of these traditions. Her works excite, delight and draw the viewer to rapture elicited from color and form. An artist in the best of artistic traditions, she paints and creates because she must. It is part of the fiber of her being, and her works reflect this passion. Dina's work is currently hanging at Tom and Toon's in New York City through October 2010.
